East Lake Commons

East Lake Commons is a new mixed-use development project in the city of Oswego, New York. The project represents the redevelopment and revitalization of an entire city block into a vibrant community above the Oswego River on the City’s East Side. The project will provide much needed modern, energy efficient housing to the area. The site is a prime location with proximity to the downtown and the historic lakeside districts of the city. The project is intended to create a new east side neighborhood that will restore vitality and renew economic opportunity for the city’s residents.

The project will consist of the demolition of an existing 60,000 SF commercial steel frame building and re-creation of surface parking for 87 cars. The centerpiece of the development will be the construction of a new multi-storied mixed use structure. The completed five-story building will contain a variety of 1- and 2- bedroom apartments on all floors. The building plan provides for the creation of select balconies with expansive views out over the city harbor and Lake Ontario

The first floor at street level will provide small mercantile space and additional apartments with walk-up porches. The completed building will contain 70 apartments and approx. 3,500 SF of commercial space. The project will be financed through the New York State Housing Finance Agency.
